Stephanie is a dual specialization doctoral student in Development Psychology and Behavioral/Cognitive Neuroscience at the University of Florida. She received her BS in Psychology with a specialization in neuroscience and a minor in statistics at the University of Central Florida (UCF). While she was at UCF, she was a member of various labs including labs at the University of California, San Diego, and Massachusetts Institute of Technology where she learned to collect data using neuroimaging techniques.
Her research interests focus on how personality traits influence cognitive functions in older adults, particularly in relation to deception, by examining the intersections of cognitive, socioemotional, and neurobiological changes. Additionally, she is interested in exploring cognitive and affective training in older adults through real-time fMRI neurofeedback. Her comprehensive approach aims to understand and enhance cognitive health and resilience in aging.
She is both a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow as well as a McNair Graduate Research Fellow.
