Piper’s research interests focus on the ways in which aging can impact social cognition and decision making, specifically when deception is at play. She is currently working with eye-tracking techniques to explore the dynamics of deceptive dyadic social interaction. She is also investigating the efficacy of real-time neurofeedback paired with interoception training as a technique to improve trust-related decision making. In the future, Piper hopes to continue researching the aging brain, but plans to focus more on neurodegeneration and the neurobiological factors driving it.
